Registration is closed for the Oral Proficiency Examination (OPE) starting November 1, 2022, until further notice. Interested candidates are encouraged to check the Prometric web page for the latest updates.
Registration
To register for the OPE, please contact Prometric, the Judicial Council’s interpreting testing vendor, at 888-226-9406, option 1, Monday–Friday, 5 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (PST). Registration is only available by phone.
Please be prepared to provide the following:
- Prometric ID number (first-time test takers will be assigned this number)
- Testing language (English or Foreign language)
- Preferred testing location
- Debit or credit card information to pay the $173.04 application fee for the OPE
- Your full contact information (including address, e-mail, and phone number) and other information, as needed, to verify your identification
