DSST Registration Instructions:

1. Take your exam online:

If you are a DANTES Eligible military test takers register here.



Civilian & non-eligible military test takers can register by clicking "Schedule" under Remotely Proctored Exam in the side menu, or via this link: register for an online exam here.  

Review the ProProctor User Guide and confirm your computer’s compatibility to allow remote proctoring.  Remote proctored online exams are offered using Prometric’s ProProctor™ application. For a remotely proctored exam, you must supply the computer which must have a camera, microphone and an internet connection and be able to install a lightweight app prior to the test event. You will be able to take the exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely.

Please note: Principles of Public Speaking is not available to be taken remotely via ProProctor

2. Take your exam at a test center:

Take your exam at a Prometric Test Center by clicking "Schedule" under Test Center Exam in the side menu, or via this link: register online.

OR

Take your exam at a NTC (National Testing Center) by registering in-person at your nearest location. Find the nearest NTC location here.

3. Take your exam at a test center in China.

All test takers in China must take their exams via ATAC (Association Testing China). Visit the ATAC site to register.

 Payment

Prometric collects payment at the time of scheduling. Payment methods include the following: Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

Identification Requirements

You must present a current and valid, government-issued picture identification such as a driver's license, or passport. The ID must not be expired and the name on the identification card must exactly match the name used to register for the exam (including designations such as “Jr.” and “III”).

Score Reports/Transcripts

You will be prompted to provide the site code of the school or designated institution you want to receive your scores at time of scheduling.  All scores, regardless of pass or fail, will be sent to the indicated institution.  If you fail to provide a site code your scores will not be sent and you will incur a fee for future score reporting. 

Once you have completed your exam you will receive your score report in the email address provided at time of scheduling.

Retest Policy

There is a wait period of 30 days before you can retake any DSST examination.  If you attempt to take a DSST exam title before the wait period has passed, your scores for this exam will be considered invalid, and Prometric will notify the credit-granting institution.

Reschedule/Cancel Policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel your exam session appointment, you must do so a minimum of 48 hours prior to testing.
