Established in 1976, the mission of the BPS is to improve patient care by promoting the recognition and value of specialized training, knowledge, and skills in pharmacy and specialty board certification of pharmacists. Currently, there are more than 30,000 BPS board certified pharmacists, with approved specialties in ambulatory care, cardiology, critical care, geriatrics, infectious diseases, nuclear, nutrition support, oncology, pediatrics, psychiatrics, and pharmacotherapy.
