IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION – PLEASE READ 

Effective June 30th, Prometric will no longer administer the New Mexico Nurse Aide Competency Examination or manage the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Registry for the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) and the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH). Last official day of testing is June 22nd.

Extended Grace Period

The New Mexico Division of Health Improvement is extending a grace period for all nurse aide certifications that are set to lapse between June 30th and August 31st will be considered active until September 30, 2024. Please Note: No further grace periods will be authorized for applications received past September 30, 2024.

 Testing applications

Prometric will no longer accept testing applications as of May 31st. Testing applications received after May 31st will be sent to DOH for processing. Beginning June 1st, you will need reach out DOH for further information as to where to mail your testing application. We will make every effort to schedule all candidates whose applications have been received prior to the deadline, May 31st , if we are not able to test you, we will refund all applicable fees.

 Renewal applications

Prometric will no longer accept Renewal applications as of June 21st. If we receive renewal applications postmarked after June 17th – they will be sent to DOH for processing. Please check back for more information as to where to mail your renewal application.
