Prometric is continuing to monitor the evolving situation in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is actively assessing the impact of changing local, state, and national government regulations, as well as health policy guidance on the status of our operations. This includes reaffirmed guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding social distancing and other preventative measures to reduce the spread of the virus.  Furthermore, we acknowledge that the US federal government recently announced an extension of the federal social distancing guidelines through April 30th in the United States. This policy has been adopted by some but not all local and state jurisdictions.

As previously announced in March, Prometric made the difficult decision to temporarily close all of its test center locations in the US and Canada through April 15th  with an anticipated resumption of testing effective April 16th.  At this time, there is no deviation from this planned resumption of operations. Temporary closure dates for testing locations in other regions of the world are determined based on regional circumstances, and current information is available on our site closure page. We will provide updated information on this page as early as possible.

Our global team of assessment experts is working diligently to identify and implement innovative solutions that will allow us to resume safe, secure, and consistent testing operations in our North American and global testing locations at the earliest possible time – ensuring our continued compliance with all applicable governmental regulations, while providing for the safety of our employees and the thousands of candidates we serve on a daily basis. We are coordinating our activities with our test sponsors to ensure that our policies and practices address the needs of the testing populations we serve.

Candidate Safety

Candidates will be permitted to use medical masks and gloves while they are testing. Please note these items will be subject to visual inspection upon entry to the test center. For a full list of permissible items please check here

Test Center Cleanliness

We have fully reviewed all test center operations and continue to reinforce expected actions at all test centers around the world that will mitigate the risk of spread of the virus at these locations. These procedures include regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces (ex. test station keyboard keys, mouse, biometric touch chip device) and providing disposable wipes so that common surfaces can be wiped.

Test Center Closures

Test center closures are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis with a close eye on specific government actions, including closing local offices, public spaces, and university campuses, along with building closures where the test centers are located.

Candidate Support

Our Candidate Care team is continuing to work through a significant number of rescheduling and canceling transactions that are the direct result of COVID-19 procedures. To meet volume-demand needs and ensure the safety of our staff, we have enabled our global CSR team to work from home and have reallocated staff from in-bound phone support to help increase throughput capacity for displacements. We’re continuing to look at options to help us maintain or increase capacity to better support our candidates.
