Welcome, you are one step closer to finding a test location and scheduling your DSST exam at a Prometric test center. Simply select the appropriate icon above to get started. Please review the below for more information.
At this time civilian and non-eligible military test takers cannot take an exam at a Prometric test center.
Please note: Prometric sites are currently only able to offer Principles of Supervision, Computing and Information Technology, Ethics in America, Health & Human Development, Introduction to Business, Introduction to World Religions and Substance Abuse. We are exploring opportunities to expand this offering in the near future.
Registering for an Exam
Once you have successfully scheduled your exam by clicking on the above icon and moving through the process it is recommended that you create your testing username and password. You may create your username and password by navigating to https://tcnet.prometric.com/dsst and clicking on first-time registration. Please bring your username and password with you on your day of testing.
If you have taken a DSST exam previously at a school or military base, your username and password is not the same. You will need to create a new username and password to use an official Prometric site.
The Defense Activity for Non-traditional Education Support (DANTES) helps service members pursue their educational goals by providing funding for DSST exams. Eligible Military service members and eligible spouses will be able to take any first attempt DSST exam for free. Please be advised that as of December 2010, DANTES no longer funds retesting on a previously funded DSST exam title.
Military service members need to provide their Common Access Card (CAC) and one valid government–issued identification card at the time of check in. You will not be able to sit for the exam without providing the CAC. The government-issued identification card (e.g., driver’s license, or state-issued identification card) must not be expired. The name on the identification card must exactly match the name used to register for the exam (including designations such as “Jr.” and “III”).
On test day when you complete the login process at the work station you will be prompted to provide the site code of the school or designated institution you want to receive your scores. All scores, regardless of pass or fail, will be sent to the indicated institution. If you fail to provide a site code your scores will not be sent and you will incur a fee for future score reporting.
Once you have completed your exam you will be provided an unofficial print out of your score. At any time post exam you may login to https://tcnet.prometric.com/dsst to retrieve your unofficial score.
There is a wait period of 30 days before you can retake any DSST examination. If you attempt to take a DSST exam title before the wait period has passed, your scores for this exam will be considered invalid, and Prometric will notify the credit-granting institution.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your exam session appointment, you must do so a minimum of 48 hours prior to testing.
