The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada

PEBC is the national certification body for the profession of pharmacy in Canada. Prometric administers three examinations, as computer-based exams, on behalf of PEBC: the Pharmacist Evaluating Examination, the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination - Part I (MCQ) and the Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Examination - Part I (MCQ).

The Pharmacist Evaluating Examination and the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination Part I - (MCQ) are offered across Canada and internationally. The Pharmacy Technician Qualifying Examination - Part I (MCQ) is offered only in Canada.

Taking Your Exam

You can take your exam on-site at a Prometric test center or at home with remote proctoring. For exams on-site at a Prometric test center, review the Candidate Information and the Rules of Conduct for computer-based exams on the PEBC Website.

A remote proctored exam uses your own computer, Internet, web camera and built-in microphone/speakers. After downloading the testing platform application and launching your exam, a live proctor monitors you throughout your exam session. Before choosing remote proctoring, check that your computer meets the requirements for Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician exams, including doing a System Check in advance.

Pharmacist Evaluating Examination Demo Exams

PEBC has created two demo exams based on the Pharmacist Evaluating Examination that will allow you the opportunity to experience a remote proctored exam (or an exam in a test centre – depending on which option they choose) while practicing going through a shortened version of the Evaluating Examination based on the revised 2025 blueprint. Each demo exam is unique and made up of 50 questions. You will receive the same proportionate testing time that is allocated to the actual exam. Upon completion of the demo exam, candidates will receive feedback on how they performed within the three subject areas. The demo exams may not reflect the same level of difficulty as the actual exam. [Note: the questions from the demo exams are the same as the sample questions posted on PEBC’s website.]

Candidates will go through the full environmental and candidate checks, experience the same testing platform as the official PEBC exams and can try out the onscreen tools. The demo exam allows candidates to test their connectivity to the remote proctoring platform, which the Systems Requirement check cannot.
