Spanish and Farsi language candidates can now register for the 2025 Spring Limited Bilingual Interpreting Examination (BIE).

*All candidates must pass the Written Examination and possess valid scores before registering for the BIE. Written Examination scores are valid for six (6) years or four (4) BIE attempts, whichever comes first. Candidates with valid scores can register for the BIE in their target language when available. Those who fail the BIE a total of four (4) times must retake the Written Examination.
*If candidates do not receive their examination scores within 30 to 45 days, they should contact Prometric Candidate Care for updates.
Registration Details:
The 2025 Spring Limited Bilingual Interpreting Examination (BIE) will be administered from March 12, 2025, through April 3, 2025.
How to Register:
Spanish and Farsi language candidates must schedule their exam between January 22 and February 7, 2025.
- To register, contact Prometric, the Judicial Council’s interpreting testing vendor, at (866) 241-3118, option 2, Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (PST).
Required Information for Registration:
- Prometric ID number
- Testing language
- Debit or credit card to pay the $376.90 application fee
- Contact information and any additional details to verify your identity
If your preferred test location or date is unavailable, please inquire about availability in other cities or on alternative dates.
Important:
During scheduling and after receiving written confirmation, candidates are strongly encouraged to reconfirm their appointment with Prometric candidate care staff to ensure all details are accurate.
