  • Schedule: Choose a test, date, time and location.
  • Locate: Search the locations where your test is offered.
  • Reschedule/Cancel: Change or cancel an existing test appointment.
  • Confirm: Double-check your appointment details. 

Then follow the on-screen prompts as you walk through the rest of the process. 

SCHEDULING NOTE 1: The eligibility ID for scheduling is the last 5 digits of your SSN.

SCHEDULING NOTE 2: When entering the first four letters of your last name, punctuations and spaces count as one of the first four letters. Do not include any dashes.

·         O’BRYAN = O’BR

·         RUIZ-PEREZ = RUIZ

·         ECK = ECK (no space afterwards if last name is less than 4 characters).

·         MC MAHON = MC M

Prometric will provide paper-pencil testing in XX pre-determined areas on June 26, 2021. If you would like to test at one of the locations, please send an email to USMSExam@prometric.com       and a Prometric staff member will work with you to confirm your testing appointment

If you are unable to schedule an automated test appointment online for a Saturday or Sunday in June 2021, contact ‎Prometric at USMSExam@prometric.com       or 1-800-644-USMS (8767) Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).  Ask for assistance in locating an available seat at a test center near you.

If you are unable to schedule the test within 75 miles of your duty location, please send an email to USMSExam@prometric.com       for assistance.  

If your issue is not resolved within 48 hours of sending an email to Prometric, please forward the email you sent to Prometric to merit.promotion@usdoj.gov       with “2021 MP Exam_your name” in the subject line for additional assistance.  For other Marshals Service-related questions, you can also contact the USMS Merit Promotion Program by emailing merit.promotion@usdoj.gov.
