Our China ProProctor team is available to assist you during your exam on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (China Standard Time). If you prefer to have a Chinese proctor during your exam, please ensure you schedule for the NPDPC exam on one of these days to be routed to the appropriate queue. We are here to support you every step of the way.
Information About the NPDP Examination
In order to take the New Product Development Professional (NPDP) certification exam, you are required to have an approved NPDP application and a valid Eligibility ID that is issued to you by the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA). You will not be able to schedule or sit for the NPDP exam without an Eligibility ID. Please allow 10 – 15 business days for your NPDP application to be processed and approved. If you are located in Chinese Mainland, you will need to take the NPDP exam through CITEF (You will not be able to take the exam through Prometric). Additional information on the NPDP application, preparation, and exam process can be found on the PDMA Certification Central website.
The NPDP Examination is computer-based and administered by Prometric. There are two ways to take your exam:
- At a remote location of your choice where you must provide a computer with a camera, microphone and high-speed internet connection and be able to install a lightweight app prior to the test event. - At a Prometric Testing Center (locations around the world).
Scheduling your Exam
1. To schedule your exam at a Prometric Testing Center
Select the appropriate link at the top of the page under Test Center Exam to schedule an exam at a Prometric Testing Center. You will be able to take the exam in-person while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process.
2. To schedule a Remotely Proctored Exam
Online, remote exams are offered using Prometric’s ProProctor™ application. For a remotely proctored exam, you must supply the computer which must have a camera, microphone and an internet connection and be able to install a lightweight app prior to the test event. You will be able to take the exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely. ProProctor™ System Requirements

Device Type:
- You must only use a laptop or desktop computer for your exam. It is not possible to take your exam on a mobile phone or iPad/Android tablet. Microsoft Surface or similar devices can be used only when configured in laptop mode.

Power Source:
- Please plug your device directly into a power source, unattached from a docking station.

Organization-Owned Device:
- If you are using a device owned by an organization, you must have administrator rights/privileges to be able to install and configure ProProctor correctly. Firewalls and/or other security settings on organization-owned devices may restrict your ability to launch the ProProctor App. Get help preparing your device on our Knowledge Base.

Screen Resolution:
- The recommended screen resolution is 1920 x 1080. Minimum resolution is 1024 x 768.

Operating Systems Supported:
- ✓ Windows 8.1 or higher.
- ✓ Mac OS High Sierra (10.13) or higher.

- Mac OS Ventura 13.0 to 13.2.1.
- Chrome OS.
- Linux-based distributions.
- Virtual machines.

Web Browser:
- Current version of Google Chrome.

Internet Connection Speed:
- 5.0 Mbps or greater download speed.
- 0.5 Mbps or greater upload speed.
- Please position your device where you can receive the strongest signal, a weak Wi-Fi connection may cause ProProctor to lose connection. For the best experience, please use an Ethernet cable to connect directly to the router. If you are sharing your internet connection with other people, please ensure they are not streaming videos, music, or games, as this can have an adverse effect on your experience.
