How to Schedule Your Exam
You will need your eligibility ID to schedule your exam. The eligibility ID is available in your ISSA student portal. Email support@nccpt.com if you are unable to locate your eligibility ID.
You have the option to take your exam either in a Prometric Testing Center or at a remotely proctored internet enabled location of your choice. If opting to take your exam remotely, you must provide a computer with a camera, microphone, an internet connection, and be able to download the testing application. To confirm that your computer and network will allow testing through ProProctor™, click here.
Test center exams may be scheduled by clicking Schedule under Test Center Exam above.

Alternatively, you can schedule your remotely proctored exam by calling by calling +1 800-813- 6779 or +1 443-455-6299 between 8 AM and 5 PM EST from Monday through Friday. At the end of the call, you will receive a number confirming your appointment. Please save this confirmation number for your examination records.
NCCPT Exam Candidates have up to 12 months to sit for their exam from the date of purchase, which can be extended for an additional six months at no charge. Documentation Needed at the Time of the Exam
Candidates are required to present the following items at the time of the exam: 1) A valid, unexpired photo ID with a signature. The only acceptable forms of ID are a driver’s license, state or government-issued ID card, passport, school ID, or military ID. Note: Military IDs are accepted for in-person testing only. They are not permitted for remote testing due to legal restrictions prohibiting the transmission of military IDs via webcam, 2) A valid CPR card or certificate of completion. A digital CPR certificate will not be accepted. The name on both the ID and proof of CPR must exactly match the name as noted in the candidate’s student account. The Proctor will check for this and you will not be able to take the exam if the name does not match. Please also remember to bring your Prometric exam confirmation code.
About the Exam
- The NCCPT-CPT certification exam contains 140 multiple-choice items, 125 are scored as part of the candidate’s overall results and 15 are considered pre-test items and are not scored. Pre-test items are used for research and development of future test questions and are interspersed throughout the exam.
- The exam is not open book/open note and must be completed in two hours.
- NCCPT Exam Candidates have up to 12 months to sit for their exam from the date of purchase, which can be extended for an additional six months at no charge. A candidate can pay an additional fee to extend exam eligibility for six more months if needed. A new exam voucher must be purchased after two years.
- Scaled scores, as opposed to raw score are used on NCCPT's examinations. As exam forms may vary slightly in difficulty, raw scores (the number of correct answers) are converted to a common scale so that the passing standard remains the same regardless of which test form a candidate takes. This allows all test-takers to be evaluated the same, even if the examination questions differ. A candidate whose scaled score equals or exceeds the passing standard will successfully pass the exam.
