What is Online Remote Proctoring with Prometric ProProctor?
Prometric provides remote proctoring exam sessions using our ProProctor™ application. Using this remote proctoring service allows you to pre-schedule a time and date for completing your exam at a location of your choice. You will be able to take your exam online while a Prometric proctor is overseeing the examination process remotely.
To ensure a positive experience using ProProctor throughout your exam, please read the following information.
Before scheduling your exam
- Check to make sure your internet speeds are at least 10MB. To test your speed, go to Fast.com.
- Have access to and install a working webcam.
- Review your system compatibility in advance by reviewing the ProProctor™ User Guide.
- Important information regarding various devices
- Chromebook: Not supported
- iPad and Android Tablets: Not supported
- Microsoft Surface: Must turn off tablet mode. How to turn off tablet mode.

Schedule your exam at least 1 day prior to exam date
- Testing will take about 1 hour. Plan your appointment for a date and time when you will be available.
- Schedule your appointment using the link on the left side of this page.
- When scheduling, be careful to select the correct time zone, and time of day. Appointments are available 24 hours a day, so be careful to select the correct AM/PM time that you will be available.
- After scheduling, you will receive a confirmation email from Prometric with your confirmation number. This will be needed to make any changes to your scheduled exam.
- Download and install the most current ProProctor Application from https://rpcandidate.prometric.com
- Open the ProProctor Application and test your system compatibility in advance as discussed in page 5 of the ProProctor™ User Guide
- Important: Use the same workspace setup, location, and system you plan on using for the exam.
On exam date
- Make sure your testing environment is clean and clear of clutter. Exams can be paused or cancelled due to a cluttered desk or area.
- Have your Prometric confirmation number ready.
- On test day, you will be required to present one valid, government-issued photo ID that is legible. Acceptable Forms of ID are:
- Driver’s License
- Passport
- Military ID Card
- State Issued ID
- When all the above steps are complete, perform the following steps 15-30 minutes before your scheduled start time:
- Close all applications.
- Open the ProProctor application.
- Enter your confirmation number and last name and follow the prompts to take your exam
To reschedule or cancel your exam
- You can reschedule or cancel your appointment as long as you do so more than 24 hours before your appointment using the links on the left side of the page.
- Your confirmation number will be required to make any changes to your scheduled exam.
- Additional Fees for Rescheduling or Cancelling may apply.
