Helping Adult Learners Fast Track Their College Goals

Prometric, a market-leading provider of test development and delivery solutions, announced two new DSST exam titles - DSST Math for Liberal Arts and the DSST Principles of Advanced English Composition. These exams, which are part of Prometric’s nationally recognized DSST program, have been reviewed and recommended for three lower level college credits by the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT®) and are accepted or administered at more than 1,900 colleges and universities nationwide.

“We continue to provide Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) tools that allow adult learners to demonstrate their knowledge accurately and fairly outside the college classroom,” stated Jana Von Bramer, Senior Vice President, Prometric. “We are especially excited with these latest exams in supporting civilians as well as military students and their families in getting a college degree.”

More than 50,000 DSST exams were administered by Prometric in 2016, benefiting students seeking undergraduate degrees in diverse concentrations of study.

The DSST program provides a cost effective, time-saving way to use knowledge acquired outside the classroom to test for credit toward a college degree. Taking a DSST exam in place of traditional class schedule saves an average of $670 on tuition and up to 16 weeks’ time for a single college class.  Click here to review the new DSST Math for Liberal Arts Fact Sheet.
