UPDATED ****IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT****

Starting on Thursday, February 29th, candidates will be directed to Prometric’s new Registration and Scheduling system (IQT). The new functionality will include the ability for you to self-schedule your English exams along with payment processing through the Prometric system. Non-English exams with Interpreters will still need the assistance of a Prometric TA Advocate for scheduling.

Candidates will receive an email from Prometric directing them to the Candidate Management system. You will need to accept the Data Privacy policy (one time) and reset your password. At that time, you will be able to view your profile, applications and exam activity and self-schedule for your English exam(s). For any non-English exams – you will need to contact our Testing Accommodations Team for assistance.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Every candidate will need to access the Candidate Management system by using the credentials they receive via email from Prometric.
  • Should you have any questions, please contact The Washington Home Care Aide team @ 1- 800-324-4689

Application

The Department of Health (DOH) Application includes information required to schedule candidates for the certification exam. Prometric requires candidates to provide an email address to be scheduled for the certification exam. If an email address is not provided, you will NOT be able to schedule the certification exam. Payment for the exam must be included along with the complete DOH application submitted to DOH. Candidates will receive an approval email once they have met all requirements to take the certification exam.

Registration and Scheduling

The law requires applicants to complete 75 hours of training before taking the exam. Candidates may schedule their exams prior to completion of training but must not take the exam until after training is complete. Candidates must attest that training is complete at the time of scheduling the exam.
