Prometric Joins with Technology Leaders to Grow IT Market

Baltimore, MD., November 14, 2007 – Prometric, the global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services, today announced that it has joined with other Information Technology (IT) leaders to form the Information Technology Certification Council (ITCC), a consortium of leading IT companies committed to growing the IT industry.
Prometric and its ITCC counterparts have joined forces in an effort to better position IT Certification for revitalized growth and to ensure that the IT industry has a well qualified and knowledgeable workforce in place. The ITCC will serve as a collective resource for employers, agencies, corporations, candidates and others seeking information about IT certification programs, benefits and employment trends. It will also confront important issues facing the IT certification industry, including exam security, perception versus actual IT Certification ROI, and training to testing ratios. The council will also establish and execute industry-wide marketing and drive other projects designed to better serve the IT certification industry.
In addition to Prometric, the ITCC is comprised of leading IT companies, including HP, IBM, Microsoft, Sun and Novell, as well as industry associations including the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) and the Linux Professional Institute (LPI).
