Thomson Prometric and Project Management Institute Renew Comprehensive Agreement

Baltimore, Md. – March 8, 2004 – Thomson Prometric, the global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services and part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC), and the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world's leading not-for-profit professional association for project management, today jointly announced a three-year renewal agreement for Thomson Prometric certification testing services.  These services include test scheduling and registration, as well as proctored testing through Thomson Prometric's global testing center network.

"Collaborating with Thomson Prometric in promoting our certification programs has been a mutually rewarding experience," said Laurie Cooke, PMI's Director, Professional Programs.  "We chose to partner with Thomson Prometric because of their experience in successfully delivering worldwide computer-based programs and their immense global presence and specialized testing center network."

PMI offers two credentials, including the Project Management Professional (PMPÒ) and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPMÔ), which is a new PMI certification.  Globally, there are more than 75,000 PMPs who provide project management services in over 120 countries.  The CAPM designation is designed for a project management practitioner who has demonstrated fundamental project management knowledge and experience by supporting projects using project management tools, techniques and methodologies.

"Thomson Prometric is very excited about our renewed collaboration with PMI," said Alison Indrisano, Thomson Prometric Senior Vice President, Client Services and Support.  "PMI, recognized as the world's leading advocate for the project management profession, coupled with Thomson Prometric's vast international testing network creates a perfect fit as we collaborate to further expand the PMI global reach."

Registration for PMI certification exams is available on www.prometric.com.
