Prometric Helps Expand Reach of Oracle's Certification

(BALTIMORE, MD - January 22, 2002) Prometric, a Thomson Learning business and the global leader in the delivery of computer-based testing, today announced that it has renewed its testing services contract with Oracle Corporation, the world's largest enterprise software company. As part of a new contract, Oracle will expand its relationship with Prometric to include the use of Prometric-IP-Testing to leverage the Internet to deliver select exams and assessments to Oracle candidates.
Using Prometric IP-Testing, Oracle will be able to more broadly link its certification training and testing solutions, and will expand the reach of its certification programs.
"We asked Prometric to develop an Internet-based solution that would help us to expand the value and reach of the curriculum offered through our Oracle Education Centers located around the world via on-site testing services," said John Hall, Senior Vice President Oracle University.
"We wanted to give Oracle candidates the ability to maximize the learning experience and their time away from work – by offering on-site, post-training assessments and exams." he continued. "In addition, we wanted to make components of the Oracle Certification Program available to a broader number of potential candidates."

For nearly five years, Prometric has worked with the Oracle Certification Program delivering exams to certify over 100,000 Oracle Certified Professionals (OCPs) around the world. Prometric also will be delivering exams for the recently expanded certification program that includes two new levels of achievement: Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Certified Master (OCM).
