National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification Extends Contract with Prometric

Baltimore, MD., October 18, 2007 – Prometric, the global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services, today announced that the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) has signed a long-term, exclusive contract extension for test development and delivery services across the U.S.

Over 1,200 candidates a year take the NCRTC exam, which is delivered in three one-week administrations throughout the Prometric network.  Only those individuals who meet and maintain adherence to NCTRC certification program standards are allowed to use the title Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) and the designation "CTRS," which is a federal trademark.

“The CTRS exam is a highly recognizable and highly coveted designation that most employers look for prior to hiring a recreation therapist,” said Bob Riley, Executive Director, NCTRC. “As the gold standard by which individuals are measured in this field, it is imperative that our exam administration run smoothly and reliably. Prometric guarantees that result for us.”

Ray Kelly, Senior VP, Client Services, Sales and Marketing at Prometric stated, “We’re extremely pleased that the NCRTC decided to renew its contract with Prometric.  Our high level of customer support, reliable execution on test day and our consistently positive test center experiences make us an ideal delivery partner with whom clients such as NCTRC can grow.”
