Prometric Announces Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Channel Services Jeffery L. McKnight, Sr.

(BALTIMORE, MD - December 18, 2001) Prometric, a Thomson Learning business, the Baltimore-based global leader in technology-enabled testing and assessment services and part of the Thomson Corporation, (TSE:TOC) has appointed Jeffery L. McKnight, Sr., as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Channel Services.

In this newly created position, Mr. McKnight will work directly with Prometric's executive leadership team and manage a global team of more than six hundred people. Mr. McKnight will leverage his nearly 35 years of experience in information systems, telecommunications, automation services management, client service, operations, and sales and marketing to develop and implement a cohesive Sales and Channel Strategy to aggressively grow revenues; particularly in the emerging markets of Europe and Asia-Pacific.

"Jeff and his team will help drive Prometric's plans for expanding marketshare for computer-based testing," said Michael Brannick, Prometric's President and Chief Executive Officer. "This will include building and unifying the global sales team and further expanding Prometric's network of more than 4,200 testing outlets around the globe. Immediately prior to this position, Mr. McKnight served as chief executive officer of Safe Harbour, Inc., a venture capital-backed firm created to obtain and manage data centers around the country. He also served as executive vice president of operations and client services for USinternetworking, Inc., where he managed the rapid growth of the company as well as extensive capital projects in data centers located in three countries.

His exemplary career includes an impressive list of successes and credentials, including: senior vice president of client care at USinternetworking, Inc., and president and CEO of PICO, Inc., a firm providing wireless communications solutions.

Prior to Pico, Mr. McKnight had a long career in the airline information and communication industry, including vice president of marketing and strategies planning for ARINC as well as executive leadership positions at Texas Air Corp, SystemOne Corporation, Continental Airlines and Amtrak.

An Anne Arundel County resident, Mr. McKnight is active in a number of local civic and philanthropic organizations. He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Hospice of the Chesapeake, Leadership Anne Arundel, The Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce, and the Red Cross of Anne Arundel County.

Mr. McKnight resides in Annapolis, Md., with his wife, Paula; they have two grown children and one brand new grandchild.
