Q: What countries in Latin America will accept local currency for my exam and when?
A. Effective January 9, 2012, local currencies will be accepted in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. Candidates will be able to pay in Argentinean Pesos, Colombian Pesos, Brazilian Reais, Mexican Pesos or Peruvian Nuevo Soles with a national VISA or MasterCard credit or debit cards. At this time payments with American Express will be in USD$ only.
Q. I don't have access to credit card or debit card, what is my option?
A: If you choose to use cash, you can contact one of the banks listed below and obtain a reloadable pre-paid card or gift card. Alternatively, you may visit one of the nearest Prometric Testing Centers to inquire about the possibility of registering with cash. Prometric Test Center Locator

Q: Will Prometric accept local currency in other Latin American countries?
A: At this time, local currencies will only be accepted in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
Q: How does this affect my registration process?
A: Your exam scheduling process will remain the same with the exception of acceptable payment types. In addition to USD, we will accept local currency in Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru.
Q: Can I still purchase my exam in USD?
A: Yes, USD currency will continue to be accepted. If you are paying for your exam with an international credit or debit card, you may use a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card.
Q: I have purchased a voucher in USD. Can I still use it to schedule my exam?
A: Yes, USD vouchers will continue to be accepted.
Q: Can I purchase my voucher in USD and/or in local currency?
A: Yes. It is possible to continue to purchase vouchers in USD or in local currency. You may purchase a voucher from a local Prometric Test Center after locating it via the Prometric Test Center Locator.

Q: What currency will be used for reschedule/cancellation fee?
A: If the original appointment was scheduled with USD currency, reschedule/cancellation fee will be assessed in USD. Likewise, if the original booking was scheduled with local currency, reschedule/cancellation fee will be assessed in local currency.
Q: How will exam registrations in cash in local currency work?
A: Candidates may find the nearest Authorized Prometric Test center via the Prometric Test Center locator and contact the testing center directly to inquire about the availability of cash payments. Once you find a nearby Test Center that accepts cash payment, you may visit the site in person, submit the cash payment to the Test Center staff and get registered for the Microsoft exam of your choice. The Test Center staff may charge you only the exam price plus any applicable national or local taxes. The receipts for the exam price and applicable taxes will be separate.
