Job Description
The Director of Test Development is responsible for managing test development staff and ensuring that various stages of exam development are performed appropriately and within the time and contract constraints. Examples of tasks include managing staff; coordinating, prioritizing, and triaging the daily pipeline as well as unexpected activities that need to be addressed by members of the test development staff; reviewing exam files using the Intelitest item management system; reviewing test development materials; evaluating exam form and item level statistics, revewing reports using Prometric's proprietary applications (Intelitest, Ops, etc.), Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel; evaluating daily processes to ensure that exam materials are valid and reliable, and representing test development to the larger organization, clients, and potential clients.
SPECIFIC STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The duties listed below are considered essential functions of the position:
· Monitoring master schedule, assigning resources, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
· Directing exam development activities using Prometric proprietary systems
· Proofing reports and performing other quality assurance tasks to ensure that products are accurate and valid
· Reviewing exam level and item level data and making recommendations regarding exam development
· Documenting test development processes and procedures
· Evaluating current practices to identify areas to increase quality, efficiency, and speed to market
· Addressing client questions and concerns regarding test development processes
· Meeting client requirements in cooperation with the client services team
· Supporting growth of the company by assisting the sales teams with new test development opportunities
· Representing Prometric in client meetings, internal departmental and cross-functional meetings, and industry conferences
· Other duties as assigned.
RELEVANT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Educational Requirements :
· Master's or Ph.D. in statistics, measurement, or other related field.
Work Experience Requirements :
· Previous experience working in a for-profit organization in the test development industry
· Previous work experience managing staff
· Previous statistical work experience
· Previous work experience successfully managing activities for a large number of clients
· Conceptual knowledge of one or more of the following: classical test theory, item response theory, qualitative research methods, statistical analysis, and one or more of the following: cognitive/experimental psychology, instructional/educational psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, instructional design, educational evaluation, adult learning theory

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word required and knowledge of other Microsoft Office products and database software helpful
