Job Description

Prometric is seeking a Senior Software Testing Engineer to join our IT Team!

The ideal Sr. Software Testing Engineer is a hands-on testing professional and team player who is responsible for performing system verification and validation testing activities as well as developing, maintaining and implementing testing and QA methods and procedures necessary to ensure that products or features meet requirements and quality standards.  Performing other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the successful implementation and adherence to Prometric's standards and best practices for software testing.
  • Work with peers to develop and present recommendations to support and improve Prometric's software quality initiatives.
  • Work with the development and stakeholder teams to ensure testing effectiveness
  • Execute Test Cases, Test Passes, Test Harnesses and Test Plans as specified in Test Director.
  • Understand products' functionalities, record defects and give possible workarounds and other helpful information when needed.
  • Produce well-written technical and business documentation including test plans, test cases and release notes.
  • Interpret simple and complex requirements.
  • Participate in requirements, test plans, test specifications, and test case review sessions.
  • Participate in Code and Requirements review sessions
  • Report progress on QC activities to management and assist in the development, implementation and adherence of QC processes.
  • Report and monitor defects.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years minimum of hands-on experience within software quality assurance with increasing levels of responsibility and technical skill.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the SDLC.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of software testing and quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing general testing tools and technologies used in the profession of quality assurance and control such as Defect Tracking Tools, Version Control and exposure to Basic SQL/DML etc…
  • Solid organization skills, well versed in producing a full range of software test documentation, inclusive of test plans and matrices, schedules, test reports and release notes.
  • Possesses working knowledge of automated testing tools, preferably Mercury or Segue.
  • Working knowledge of PVCS.
  • Proficiency in Multiple OS environments, client-server concepts, basic network concepts and MS Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that include communicating well across multi-disciplinary teams, reporting and analyzing problems, providing status to leads and managers, and defining specific hardware and software needs for a product test environment.
  • Must be results driven, team-oriented and self motivated professional.
